Flu and Covid booster campaign 2021

Our winter vaccination campaign launched at the end of September, and we are co-administering COVID-19 booster and flu vaccines, following the latest guidance. We hope that staff take this opportunity to come together as a Trust once again, doing our bit to protect our communities and keep ourselves well.

The COVID-19 vaccines are proven to provide high levels of protection against hospitalisation or dying from the virus. To maximise and maintain this high level of protection through the coming winter, the JCVI is advising that booster doses be offered. Both COVID-19 and flu can be very serious illnesses, especially to those who are very young, elderly or have long-term conditions such as asthma, diabetes, an autoimmune condition, or a disability.  Many of us care for and work alongside patients and colleagues who are in these at-risk groups. By getting vaccinated, each of us can help to stop disease spreading and protect vulnerable people. Vaccination also helps ensure that we all stay well, so we can continue to deliver the best possible care to the patients we serve.

We understand the new COVID booster programme will raise a lot of questions and you can find our more about this including useful Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) on the Intranet.
